Over 3 years ago my husband gave me a potted hydrangea plant for my birthday. Once the weather warmed up, we planted it outside and then when we moved, we brought it with us. This year the blooms are particularly stunning - deep pinkish magenta with emerald leaves. I'm so glad we kept the plant and that we moved it with us to our then new home. It was a lovely gift and it makes a beautiful addition to our garden. Everytime I pass its bountiful blooms, I think of my husband.

home sweet home
Happily, I'm home after spending the last four days away for work. The 4 1/2 hour drive home was quietly uneventful, and the sunset over the snow blanketed farmland between Minneapolis and Madison was like a picturesque pastel canvas. Delicate pinks and apricots gently danced across greyish, baby blues which made for an amazing light show while the rolling hills and evergreens looked as perfectly crisp as winter can be. But once the sun set, ending this beautiful show, I was on a mission to get home.
