We recently attended the Overture's International Festival here in Madison. The acts were wide ranging and there were many, many to chose from, but the shows we saw were a Lithuanian dance troupe, several Chinese performances, and a West African fusion band. I took a few photos, though they don't really capture the enthusiatic vibe of both those on stage and those in the audience. I do hope you enjoy!
colorful traditional Lithuaian costumes |
a Chinese drum and dance troupe |
a Chinese 2 string violin called the erhu - beautiful sounds! |
amazing performance, I believe this instrument is called the zheng |
could there be anything more adorable? |
a West African fusion group |
the sax blends with so well with the African beats - a richness of musical history |
beats that made every child in the audience dance fancy free! |
